Most anything by A.E. Robinson. Frost is amazing. I don't think I could pick one poet, let alone a favorite poem.

What JWs did you know that were fanatical freaks?
by jemba ini just mentioned in another post about a bro that wouldnt shake hands with anyone because it was of pagan origin.. another bro collected fossils that he would show in the ministry for some stupid creationist reason, everywhere he went he talked about jehovah, jehovah, jehovah, no one wanted to work with him, in the workplace or on field service.
his own wife would hide somewhere when he started his incidental witnessing at shops or on the street.. dont get me started about some of the fruit loop parents and what they put their kids through in the name of jehovah.. what freaks stand out in your memory as fanatical jws?.

Left in the Cold
I knew of a young (20 something) brother who was a full time pioneer. The thing is though, he carried a stop watch like they use in races. Anyway, he would start the stop watch when he left the car, went to the door, spoke to someone, then as soon as he came back to the car, off went the stop watch. This was back when 90 hours a month was needed to pioneer. I have no idea how he got his time in. I really didn't care. But that stands out as odd to me.

by Left in the Cold inhttp://www.fox59.com/news/wxin-college-park-jehovas-witnesses-community-fights-to-keep-jehovahs-witnesses-out-of-neighborhood-20121107,0,5339745.column.
the story is mostly about a neighborhood in indianapolis fighting to keep a kh from being built in their neighborhood, but as is common, the entertainment is in the comments below the article.
i thought i'd share.

How do you keep your hopes up while in this doomed existence?
by sabastious incoming from aguest's thread where she showed us the article that describes a "brain drain" that has been occuring for centuries do to "mutations" i can't help but be a little fed up with how much negativity comes from the land of science.
sure, facts are facts and they do not set out to sound good or bad, but instead of identifying the problems of doom, like our brains are devolving, why not focus on the solutions to those problems?
where are the hopes and dreams that our culture so desperately holds onto which actually provides the drive to progress towards them.

Sabastious, have you considered cognitive behavior therapy? Basically, it's learning to change the way you think. A good psychologist and being willing to try can go a really long way toward allowing you to see the present and the future in a different, better light. It's not a quick fix. It takes some work, but it could be helpful. Research it a little. I'm sure there are other therapies that would help too. I'm just speaking from experience. If you're anxious and depressed, it can help with those feelings as well.

I would only add that along with a nice card, flowers or something else she likes might help. All women love to think their man thinks about them often and loves them. Jewelry is nice too. It's not shallow. Just human nature. I wish you much luck!

Where does all the JW money go?
by LouBelle ini want to know.. does every kingdom hall, bethel and assembly hall belong to the watchtower, bible & tract society?.
each of those kingdom halls, bethels etc are built with the money obtained by that country's contributions.
if a loan is needed the bothers of that specific congregation pay off the loan.. the society has then an extremely huge amount of property worth billions of $$$$ who has control of all those funds?

For NeverKnew: How to Crash a meeting
by perfect1 inin the chilling experience thread never knew asks a few questions about attending a meeting.. i thought i would dedicate a thread to answering this question- because my knowledge is a little outdated, please join in!.
1. you will be scrutinized for your appearance.
as a woman you are expected to wear a below knee length skirt or dress.

Left in the Cold
From the prospective of a woman, when I enter a kh I feel like a second class citizen. Behind the brothers, I mean. I dress somewhat provocatively (to the best of my ability by JW standards) because I know that's really all I have there. Looks. And if I can't be as important as the men, then I'm going to use the only thing(s) I have that they don't. Immature? Probably. But it helps me hold my head up a little higher when I'm there.
